Management of Maternity Waiting Home (MWH)
WOSCA along with the support of NHM, extends support to the expectant mothers who come from far-flung areas seeking maternal health care and stay in the Maternity Waiting Home / Maa Gruha. To the inmates of the waiting Home, health check up and nutrition (milk, fruit, lunch, dinner and dry rations) are provided to patients free of cost. WOSCA bears the cost of health care of the inmates and provides supportive institutional aids. The service of a gynaecologist is provided on daily basis. The patients are also counselled about the further course of treatment. This centre covers 13 GPs and 72 villages of Harichandanpur block. Since its inception, 1349 institutional deliveries have been realised and the average admission of pregnant woman is 35 to 40 in each month.
