OXFAM FRA PROJECT
Project focus on enabling people to gain access to entitlements under Forest Right Act (FRA) by facilitating both individual and community claim submission with hand holding and advocacy support to realise the objective
Specific objectives for the project are enlisted below :
- Ensuring forest and land right to all eligible forest dweller and habitations as per the provisions of FRA 2006 for improved wellbeing
- Ensure smooth entitlement delivery through advocacy with state and district administration along with networking with NGOs, CBOs and communities Thematically the project embedded with the principles of community rights, livelihoods, improved governance and sustainability of the effort. The project is for the duration of nine months only starting from April 2017 until December 2017. The field interventions is taken up in 4 Gram Panchayats of Telkoi block of Keonjhar district covering 15000 population, but the advocacy efforts covers a wider geography during the project duration. So far forest protection groups have been strengthened in 20 villages and 3440 people made aware on FRA provisions. in 14 villages CFR have been facilitated along with forest rights committee members.
